Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China, located on the southern coast of the country, bordered by the South China Sea. It consists of Hong Kong Island, the Kowloon Peninsula, and the New Territories, along with over 200 small islands. Once a British colony, it was handed back to China in 1997 under the principle of “one country, two systems,” which allows it to maintain a separate legal and economic system from mainland China.

Hong Kong is known for its vibrant economy, being one of the world’s leading financial centers. It has a diverse population and a unique blend of Eastern and Western cultures due to its history. The region is famous for its iconic skyline, bustling harbor, and dense urban environment. Its official languages are Chinese (Cantonese) and English, reflecting its colonial past and multicultural society.
